Several years ago, I purchased Pony Express Kennels, with the help of my daughter, Mary. Prior to moving back to the area, we owned and operated a boarding and grooming facility in Vermont. Since I have owned and showed dogs for many years, a pet boarding and grooming facility was the perfect career for me. Mary, who also grew up with pets of all kinds and attended Nanhall’s Grooming School located in North Carolina, is an accomplished groomer.
The play-yard insures that each boarder or daycare guest gets lots of fresh air and exercise. Care is taken to insure that each pet’s needs are met. If we have a pet that is nervous, we will spend time alone with that pet to insure he/she is happy and healthy. Many pet owners tell us that their pets leave Pony Express returning home as if they had never been away. Cats are also welcome at Pony Express Kennels.
We offer dog training at Pony Express Kennels throughout the year. Some are training classes such as obedience and rally. These classes give the dogs and outlet for energy plus help make your dog a “good citizen”. We also offer “behavior modification” for your dog focusing on problem areas within the household.
In an effort to further their knowledge, we attend seminars and conferences to better look after your pet.
